We are an interdisciplinary research group in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Our overarching goal is to develop smart infrastructure by exploiting and embedding technology in sensing, computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) to gather and analyze unobservable information regarding the condition, safety, and resiliency of our infrastructure.

Mar. 01, 2023: We are seeking a graduate student (MASC, PhD, or Direct PhD) to delve into cutting-edge smart structure topics, with a particular emphasis on computer vision for structure evaluation and applications in computer vision, virtual reality (VR, AR, & MR), and robotics. Applicants should have a background in computer vision, image processing, or machine learning and experience in programming languages such as Python, C++/C#, web services like AWS, Azure, libraries like ROS, OpenCV, OpenXR, and software such as Unity and 3D modeling software.
